Meet the team: Getting to know Terence, Head of Property Management.

Terence is our Head of Property Management and first port of call for any maintenance related questions. With a career spanning almost 20 years, he is our office ‘wise owl’. Day to day you will find Terence ensuring the smooth running of property upkeep, inspections, check outs via The Depositary & generally just being a friendly face for our managed properties. It goes without saying that our office wouldn’t be the same without him. So, let’s get to know him a little more…

How long have you worked at base?

About 3 Years & 4 months.

What did you do before base?

I was the Head of property management at Winkworth Shepherds Bush.

Do you remember your first day?

If so, how would you explain this in one word? Amazeballs! (Did Terence really just use that word? Oh yeah he did!)

What has been your favourite moment throughout your time at base?

Being with you lot, my base family!

What would you say is your best quality?

Definitely my problem solving skills.

If you had a superpower, what would this be and why?

Teleporting so I can be somewhere instantly! (The office would definitely have him doing the Friday afternoon lunch round if this was the case!)

If you could choose one skill to instantly improve, what would it be?

To have more patience.

Do you have a favourite member of staff?

I love you all but Diamond is my favourite.

How has your  personal journey in the property industry gone so far, and has anything changed in this time?

Like most people I fell into my career in property but over the years have developed a passion to be proactive in managing our clients investments. It is now very clear that property managers will need to be more clued up especially with the regulations that the government are imposing on the private rental market.

What is your favourite part of your role at base?

Being a fountain of knowledge!

What did you want to be when you were younger?

Marine biology or interior decorating

What is your biggest achievement to date?

Being with my Vincent for 18 years and recently moving to the Countryside.

How did you get the job at base?

I slept with the boss! He he just kidding, An & I have been best friends for years. It just so happened that she needed someone like me for base when I needed a new role!

What is your favourite property of ours?

St Pancras Chambers I just love the building and the flat is pretty cool too.

Tell us something about you that not many people know.

I spent a year in the army in South Africa as part of my national service.

Who, or what, inspires you?

I love that Kristjan and An are so forward thinking and admire their passion for the property industry. I also find inspiration in wine LOL!

You recently adopted a little dog from abroad, what is his funniest trait so far?

Just quietly sitting next to the pond and watching the ducks. Oh and he has developed a taste for horse manure!!
