12th June was a busy and eventful day for us at base Property Specialists as we attended The Lettings Agency of the Year Awards in association with The Sunday Times & The Times sponsored by Zoopla; this year, the awards were hosted by BBC London 94.9 presenter Penny Smith. We were treated to a whole host of speakers, including Nicky Stevenson of The Property Academy, who discussed new findings from the mystery shoppers that were sent out to make sure our performance was as good as we said it was. It was an incredibly interesting day and gave us a lot to think about moving forward. One of the highlights of the day was the fantastic keynote speech by long-distance runner, MBE Paula Radcliffe, whose talk on coping with media presence was awe-inspiring.
A nationwide success: hard-work pays off
This fantastic event culminated in us winning the Gold award for “Property Management 0-200”. This award comes after months of work on our entry, which involved a 1,500 word written piece, a 30-minute telephone interview, and being under the scrutiny of a mystery shopper investigation. After that, a panel of 20 industry experts debated which company merited winning this coveted award.
It is clear that, after all our hard-work, we are delighted (not to say ecstatic) to have been chosen as the Gold standard in the Property Management category. Unlike many of the awards presented that day, ours was a UK-wide award, meaning that we not only beat other London lettings agents, we also surpassed the best and brightest in the country! To get an acknowledgement of our passion for service from such a prestigious source as The Times is humbling, but don’t worry, we will not rest on our laurels and we have plenty of ideas to get even better!
This award, among the many others that we have already won (such as 2 Bronze Awards in May at the ESTAS 2015 for Best Letting Agent as voted by tenants and as voted by landlords), proves our commitment and determination to provide the best service possible for our clients. It’s also an indicator of the success of our Be the One campaign, and proof that we are going in the right direction by putting the emphasis on quality of service!
