As told by Hannah: Celebrating 15 years’ of base property specialist’s ltd!

As some of you may know, back in May we celebrated base’s 15th birthday (typically referred to as baseday in the office!). Alike with base’s 10th baseday, this was once again the perfect opportunity to host celebrations as a ‘thank you’ to all who helped the business to reach yet another amazing milestone. Whilst it was a great excuse to throw a party (not that base ever needed one) it was equally as lovely to put faces to names of clients, suppliers, contractors, friends & family that some of the team had not yet met before.

To say the turnout was incredible would be the understatement of the century! Some of our landlords flew over especially from Spain & Australia just to attend the special night. Whilst this showed great support from our clients, it also showed the friendship-like relationships base have managed to maintain with clients over the years.

Many can agree that work events often comprise of formal conversation & certain ‘formalities’, however, the tone of that particular evening was much more than just that. During the speeches I recall looking around the room surrounded by all relatives of base, new or old; ex-base employees, landlords, suppliers, contractors, friends, family – all there for the same reason, to support the business power couple that is An & Kristjan! I know I speak for all of the team when I say we had such a fun evening partying and getting to know all of the people who were a part of base’s journey.

Midway through the evening An & Kristjan hosted a base special ‘pub quiz’ for all of our guests. This entailed many questions detailed around base, members of staff & general knowledge! Surprisingly, one of Kristjan’s supplier partners won, meaning we had to hand over the magnum of champagne after all. The quiz was a great success seeing everyone (base employees excluded, of course) take part. Needless to say, this did not stop me from stealing the microphone and doing my best ‘bullseye’ compère impression to get in on the fun!

The venue, Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen, kindly hosted us effortlessly until the early hours. The evening saw endless prosecco, an amazing BBQ and accoutrements & a rather large bar tab! Having previously worked in hospitality for many years, I could not fault any of the staff who were more than happy to assist with any minor detail. Thanks guys, you were awesome!

For some of us, the party didn’t truly end until around 7am where the daylight reminded us it was time to go home! So without further ado, another huge congratulations to arguably two of the best bosses – An & Kristjan.
