Director of base property specialists Kristjan Byfield believes that it makes sense for investors to opt for buying-to-let as their pension as it offers a much better source of income:

Even if an investor buys a property and keeps it for five years, in the process achieving a modest net annual rental income of five per cent, this is considerably better than any bank deposit account. And that is even before taking into account any capital growth in the property value – although any future capital growth is likely to be unspectacular, given the state of the economy.
