Halloween special at Village Underground in Shoreditch invites you to enter a velvet draped world with acrobatic performances and fancy dress costumes to help you delve deep into the dark, dreamy and raunchy end of the century style night. Belle Epoque are stepping back in time and over the channel to Paris for an evening of bohemian fun and games. Recreating the hedonistic days of the end of the 19th century, this is one club night that will indulge your more artistic side. Belle Epoque takes you on an absinthe fuelled journey full of circus performers, distorted mirrors and silent films.
Absinthe or the Green Fairy as it is often called plays a major part in the evening’s entertainment. Giving guests the chance to learn to appreciate the spirit in its correct form, absintheurs will be on hand to introduce you to the delights of the fairy, while you watch the freak show of aerial dancers and trapeze artists tumble above you. Expect tricks of the eye, bizarre performances and plenty of can-can ruffles. The dress code demands that you dress the part too, with men requested to don their artists’ smocks and paint splattered clothes or go all out with moustaches, top hats and tails. Ladies are invited to put on tail feathers and squeeze themselves into corsets. Expect an eclectic mix of sounds, inspired by the streets of Montmartre and the Parisian red light district.
The Belle Epoque club night Halloween special takes place from 8pm – 2am (acrobats from 9pm onwards) on Saturday 27th October 2012 at Village Underground. Tickets cost £20.00.
